What is an Email Marketing?
Email Marketing tool is a way through which a blogger offer subscription of their blog. It can be done through popup or email form. A reader provides his/her email address and consents to accept email or blog updates to their inbox.
It is a win-win for both bloggers and readers; the reader gets the regular update and newsletter option to their inbox and a blogger gets permanent readers for his/her blog.

You must start building your email list from day one. Not building email list on time may hamper the growth of your blog.
Now let’s quickly check what are the things you need to kickstart building your email list:
- An Email Marketing Provider– This is the first step to start. An email marketing tool manages your email subscriber. It let you add, delete, export, import or modify the email list. It also provides the tool to embed form or popup to capture email subscribers.
It also let you schedule and automate an email to your list. There are various companies offers the services but Mailchimp, Aweber and Getresponse are the best one in my opinion.
- A customized opt-in form builder – Once you have selected Email marketing tool, the next step is to create opt-in form builder or email form. There is various opt-in forms builder available in the market. My personal favourite is Optinmonster and Sumome.

Sumome is another great company which offers a lot of opt-in forms to capture user’s email address. Sumome comes free for a basic version. It also has a paid version with tons of great features. It comes as a plugin for WordPress blog.
They offer the different type of opt-in like Welcome mat, slider opt-in and popup form.
Email building list is an important part of blogging. It is always better to start is early as you setup your blog.
Mailchimp is a good option for new bloggers as it is free for your first 2000 subscribers. If you a serious and a professional blogger, Getresponse is a better option as it has more features and comes with the feature of landing pages.
